It’s easy on the throat and tummy.
What you may find, is that trying to jump straight into drinking a heavier detox apple cider vinegar drink as a beginner, will leave your throat and tummy feeling a little harsh.
My Wake-N-Go Apple Cider Vinegar Drink consists of:
- 8 oz. water (minimum)
- 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
- ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 sliced and deseeded lemon
You can try it out and remove or lessen the cinnamon or lemon.
This is how I normally make my Wake-N-Go detoxifying water recipe.
I usually drink about 16 oz. of water (minimum) with this recipe. I’ll add in 1 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar; 1 tsp. of cinnamon (or a little more because I love cinnamon); 1 rinsed, deseeded, and sliced lemon.
I remove the seeds because I like avoiding swallowing lemon seeds while drinking my water.
I also squeeze each lemon slice directly into my water before putting it into my water.
Lastly, I’ll add up to four ice cubes into my drink to make it cool to my taste.

Blueberries are a very popular superfood. But what makes this fruit so powerful?
What puts the super in the superfood blueberries?
The energy-boosting mesonutrient that puts the super in blueberries is an active compound known as anthocyanins.
Anthocyanins provide the energy boosting benefits to blueberries. This powerful mesonutrient improves communication between brain cells and supports heart health.
Research has shown it lowers the risk of death from cardiovascular disease due to reduction in arterial stiffness and blood pressure.
Anthocyanins had been linked to memory enhancement and age-related decline of mental functioning ( 5 ).
This study suggests that daily incorporation of whole blueberries may reduce pain, stiffness, and difficulty to perform daily activities, while improving gait performance, and would therefore improve quality of life in individuals suffering from osteoporosis ( 6 ).
Ginger is a tropical plant that has green-purple flowers and fragrant underground stem (called a rhizome). It is widely used as a flavoring or fragrance in foods, beverages, soaps, and cosmetics ( 7 ).

If you’re wondering how garlic fits into this apple cider vinegar detox drink, I’ll tell you a little secret.
Garlic, an herb, is widely as flavoring while cooking.
However, garlic is believed to have healing properties in it which derives from its hydrogen sulfate.
Diallyl sulfide, a compound in garlic, was 100 times more effective than two popular antibiotics in fighting the Campylobacter bacterium, according to a study published in the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy ( 10 ).
Our bodies also produce the same hydrogen sulfate. Yet the small amounts from the garlic are not physically harmful.
Garlic works wonders on clearing congestion and decreasing the time of a cold.
Mainly known for its ascorbic acid reserves, lime provides 32 percent of the daily recommended intake of vitamin C.
It has high water content and important vitamins and minerals like magnesium and potassium, as well as vitamins like folate, vitamin A, vitamin E, and vitamin K.
The best thing about limes is that they are low in calories, carbohydrates, and fats.
The carbohydrates in limes are mostly made of soluble fiber in the form of pectin. Soluble fiber is known to slow digestion, which keeps your blood sugar stable, and inhibit colon cancer tumor growth ( 11, 12, 13 ).
According to the USDA National Nutrient Database, a single serving (67 g) of lime provides 20 kcal of energy ( 14 ).
