Bullet journaling is quite the rave in many circles lately. Especially if you’re using a weight loss bullet journal to track your weight loss goals and progress.

Before we get into definitions and recommended articles, let me share that I was not a believer of bullet journals for any purposes.
A regular journal named a bullet journal was something I did not understand.
Then I figured…ah, marketing.
But I was wrong.
Misconception of the Bullet Journal
At 16 years old I had many journals. I had big journals, small journals, journals that locked, journals that could only be opened with a numerical pass code, binders that I turned into journals, etc…
Until the age of 17, I wrote everything in journals.
But that’s another story for a different site.
Anyway, I mention this stroll down my memory lane because writing down things, any things, is important.
It was for me. And I suspect that if you are reading this article, it’s important to you as well.
You know that you want, or may even need, a change in your life.
For whatever reason, you have decided to lose weight.
And you don’t want to fail.
So for me those journals that I wrote in for years were a way for me to look back through my life.
It allowed me to read how I was feeling in those times and what my goals were for the future.
But my regular journals didn’t capture everything.
I pretty much opened my journal and started writing what I was feeling. It was daily writing but that was as far as my organization went.
Plus, as I was writing in my personal journals, organization wasn’t important to me. I just wanted to write down the words swimming in my head.
A bullet journal is so much more than that.
Bullet journals are great for organizing everything in one place, as you will learn.
You can add pages that fit your needs and goals as you wish.

Just like tracking your future goals is helpful to see how you’re progressing towards them. It’s also great to look back on why you were unable to achieve those goals in the past.
I believe that at times, it’s good to look back in order to move forward.
What can happen is that if you’re not careful to analyze your past barriers, they will reappear.
The same goal failure will face you.
All that does is keep you in an endless cycle of weight loss failure. Which spirals into your constant thoughts of “I’ll never loss this weight.“

Outliers is usually a word I reserve for use during my day job. Yes, stats I’m looking at you.

I mentioned earlier that I was a believer in bullet journals. I misunderstood what value they truly held.
Fortunately I learned from my mistaken thought and I’m better for it.
Losing weight, becoming healthy, changing your lifestyle, and any other self wellness matters are important.
But many times we, yes I’m including myself, fail because we lack structure.
For example — When my meal planning isn’t organized, I eat the wrong stuff. If my workout schedule isn’t readily available I’ll likely skip a workout.
Using a bullet for weight loss is a great way to keep every part of your process in one place.
You’ll lose your excuses to not follow through with your goals.
So I’d say at this point, having a weight loss bullet journal is essential to achieving your goals.
